An ugly staircase in Derbyshire is transformed with glass and oak thanks to a visit from Abbott-Wade.
“It was everything we expected!”
Why a new staircase?
The staircase we had in place was very basic – ugly to put it bluntly and that needed to be put right.
Inspiration:
We’d been thinking about decoration and how we could improve our hallway when we realised that the main feature, the staircase, could be revitalised with a staircase renovation.
Decision making process:
We had seen an advertisement in a newspaper or magazine for Abbott-Wade. When we looked into it further we found many favourable comments for the company on the internet and we were also impressed when reading their staircase renovations guide.
Style choice:
We opted for stop chamfered newel posts with embedded glass and a feature step. It just looked right and we are very pleased with how it looks.
End result:
It is everything we expected. The fitters worked diligently and didn’t chat overly while working, which probably helped them do such a good job and pay such close attention to detail.
