Why a new staircase?
Having been built in the 1970’s our old staircase was very dark and old fashioned and we felt it needed updating..
Inspiration:
We saw a lovely advert for Abbott-Wade in ‘Lancashire life’ magazine. We immediately loved the oak and glass and the fact we could keep our existing staircase appealed to us.
Decision making process:
We chose Abbott-Wade because they were extremely accommodating. Despite our challenging requirements they were happy to do exactly as we specified without trying to influence us in to making any compromises.
Style choice:
The colour of natural oak would modernise the staircase & we knew the glass would help bring in light. Our home is on a split level & therefore everybody who visits uses our staircase; it’s the hub of the house so we needed to get it right.
End Result:
Very pleased, what a firm! Our neighbour had assumed we’d had no stairs for days, when in fact the job was completed in just over one day. There was minimal disruption you wouldn’t have known they’d been here.
