Why a new staircase?
Our old staircase was looking tired and uninviting when people came through the front door. We’d invested a lot and time and money in bringing the rest of our home up to a high standard and our staircase was completely letting down the rest of the house.
Inspiration:
We’d had oak doors installed and it was important for us to maintain the theme throughout the house. We liked the elegance of traditional spindles but knew that a turned style would not be in keeping with the modern styling we had chosen.
Decision making process:
Abbott-Wade had been recommended to us but we still decided to contact other companies to make sure the quote was competitive, which it was. After meeting with the designer, our mind was made up. It was clear that they shared our vision and were able to answer all of our questions. The prefinished service was also a deciding factor for us as we have young children and it was important that mess and disruption was kept to a minimum.
Style choice:
We’d looked though the style magazines and wanted a contemporary style which wouldn’t date, so the stop chamfered spindles were the obvious choice.
End Result:
The final result is fantastic. It’s now been several years since the installation was completed and the staircase still looks fresh and has aged better than us. We’ve since recommended Abbott-Wade to other friends and colleagues who have been equally as impressed with their service.
